Four dead in USAF Pave Hawk helicopter crash

An American HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter based at RAF Lakenheath in the UK has crashed off the coast of Norfolk, killing its four crew members.

On 7 January, a United States Air Force (USAF) special forces helicopter crashed near Salthouse on the Norfolk coast around 6pm, killing four US airmen, RAF Lakenheath has confirmed in a statement.

According to the statement, the HH-60G Pave Hawk ‘was performing a low-level training mission along the coast when the crash occurred’.

Recovery efforts are being coordinated by US military officials, in conjunction with UK police and the Ministry of Defence.
