First flight for the militarised Mi-38T

Russian Helicopters has announced the first flight of the Mi-38T militarised derivative, a long-awaited event in the process of fielding the 15.6t helicopter in production and testing for its launch customer, the Russian MoD. 

Andrey Boginsky, CEO of Russian Helicopters, said that the Mi-38T made its first flight in hover on 3 November. The development and production of the Mi-38T was undertaken by Russian Helicopters using its own funds to meet a MoD technical specification.
