First day in new role for AgustaWestland's Orsi
AgustaWestland CEO Giuseppe Orsi has stepped into his new role as the head of Finmeccanica.
Orsi took over from Pier Francesco Guarguaglini on 4 May having held the post of CEO at AgustaWestland since November 2004.
Speaking after the company's shareholders meeting, he said: 'One of my first tasks, during my first 100 days of office, will be to examine the global economic situation, which is somewhat complex at present, and to look at what we can do internally to make Finmeccanica even more competitive.
'To assist me in this, I am counting on the proven dedication of all group employees. I will also submit a statement of work for the new chief operating officer, to be examined by the board at its next meeting.'
Reports in Italy suggest that Bruno Spagnoli, the current chief operating officer at AgustaWestland, is expected to take on the CEO role at the helicopter company.
