The final Swiss Air Force TH06 ISR Super Puma was handed over to defence procurement agency Armasuisse at RUAG’s Emmen facility on 29 August.

In 2006 the Swiss Air Force awarded RUAG Aviation a CHF198 million contract to upgrade 15 TH89 Super Puma helicopters as part of a project that included replacing 80 percent of the instrumentation with a glass cockpit.

The TH06 ISR programme comprised a new integrated flight management system, two GPS systems, an inertial navigation system and a digital map display. The upgrade also incorporated new radio systems that provide police, encrypted radio and satellite transmissions.
