Farnborough: AW149 ready for global market
AgustaWestland is confident its AW149 multi-role helicopter is ready for the international market, after announcing Italian military certification of the platform during the Farnborough International Airshow.
On 15 July, the company announced the AW149 had been issued with military certification by the Italian Directorate of Air Armaments, following the successful completion of certification trials.
While more operational evaluation tests are scheduled to be conducted on the airframe in the coming months, AgustaWestland confirmed that the AW149 is now ready to enter the international market ‘to meet a number of fleet modernisation requirements’.
