Farnborough 2018: Industry competitors united on accelerating FVL timelines
The main industry figures involved in developing the US Army’s medium lift FVL aircraft, commonly referred to as capability set 3, are working together to convince lawmakers that the programme’s acquisition process can be accelerated to allow the army to induct a chosen model into its fleet earlier than currently anticipated.
During a press conference on 16 July at Farnborough Airshow, Bell CEO Mitch Snyder said that the company has been ‘coordinating at a congressional level’ with competitor Sikorsky to allow ‘the various states that support both of us’ to agree on working to accelerate FVL timelines.
