L-3 Wescam has used the Farnborough International Airshow to launch its new MX-10D EO/IR imaging and designating turret.

The MX-10D will operate as a medium- to low-altitude tactical surveillance and target designating system for both fixed and rotary wing platforms, as well as tactical UAVs.

Robert Salmon, sales support manager for the company, told Shephard that this is the latest and the smallest of the MX family of turrets, and has three sensors as standard: a full HD EO; a low-light near-IR camera; and a full IR camera.

'It is very capable with a low size and weight,' Salmon said.
