Farnborough 2010: Sweden sets sights on medium-lift buy

Speaking in the run-up to Farnborough International Air Show the chief of the Royal Swedish Air Force, Major General Anders Sliwer, said that the Swedish government had not yet decided on which aircraft would fulfill a requirement for 15 medium-lift helicopters that need to be in service by 2013.

Sliwer said 'the government directed us to make a hole in the budget for the helicopters, it didn't quite work out that way, but we did a good job getting them in the budget.' The delays in the NH90 were a factor in the decision, but the real catalyst was public
