Sikorsky Aircraft is set to announce a major first order of its S-70i International Black Hawk at the Farnborough Airshow on 20 July.

Speaking to Rotorhub.com in a pre-airshow briefing, Sikorsky president Jeff Pino said a significant order for the S-70i had been placed by a Middle Eastern country, which was also acquiring Sikorsky’s S-76D medium-twin helicopter. However he declined to name the customer ahead of a scheduled announcement tomorrow.

The first S-70i black Hawk, which is produced at PZL Mielec, a Sikorsky Aircraft company in Poland, made its debut flight on 1 July at the Sikorsky Development Flight Center.
