Dutch Apaches get new external fuel tanks

The Dutch Defence Helicopter Command has recently received new external fuel tanks for use on its Boeing AH-64D Apaches, it has emerged. 

Robertson Fuel Systems has delivered a small number of its Reduced Size Crashworthy External Fuel System (RCEFS) tanks in response to an urgent operational requirement due to the Dutch decision to send troops to Mali, according to the company’s manager for international programmes Ben Shelemay.

Four Dutch AH-64Ds were recently deployed to Gao where they now operate as part of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).  

According to Shelemay, RCEFS was developed
