Dubai Airshow 2017: Russia’s Middle Eastern strides

Russian-made helicopters are not a common sight in the majority of Middle Eastern countries but the situation is changing slowly with the latest sales and deliveries in the region.

Several countries have purchased or are considering buying new helicopters for military and paramilitary use.

Jordan, for instance, is known to be among the latest customers for Russian-made military helicopters thanks to a contract signed April 2017.

Inked between Russian Helicopters and Jordan’s King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau, it covers delivery of four Mil Mi-26T2 heavylift helicopters, intended for use by the country’s military.
