DSEI 2013: Minister reveals new contracts

Three new contracts for military vehicles, helicopter support and the creation of a new armour facility were announced by the Minister for Defence Equipment, Support and Technology, Philip Dunne, at the DSEI exhibition on 11 September.

The new agreements include £23 million contract with General Dynamics for 24 additional Foxhounds to bring the British Army fleet up to 400 vehicles. 

The support contract for Apache and Merlin helicopter engines involved a £367 million, six-year contract with a Rolls Royce Turbomeca for support of the RTM322 engine, which is expected to reduce the number of major repairs needed on the airframes,
