Czech Republic signs for H-1 helicopters
The Czech Republic Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed a Letter of Offer and Acceptance finalising its purchase of the AH-1Z and UH-1Y helicopters under a foreign military sale with the US Department of Defense.
The Czech Republic is acquiring a mixed fleet of four AH-1Z and eight UH-1Y military helicopters under the agreement, for a range of missions including close air support, air-to-air combat, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
The H-1 mixed fleet shares 85-percent commonality between parts, reducing the logistics, maintenance and training costs of the AH-1Z and UY-1Y.
Bell anticipates that delivery will begin in 2023 and complete by 2024.
