Columbia Helicopters consolidate airlift support

Columbia Helicopters has received a modified contract from the US Transportation Command for rotary-wing airlift support. The work will be performed in Afghanistan and focus predominately on passenger transport and cargo carrying.

Currently Columbia operate its Vertol 107-II aircraft as well as two variations of its 234 (UT and LR) in the region. The Vertol is a commercial version of the Boeing CH-46 Sea Hawk while the 234 is a commercial model of the Boeing CH-47D Chinook.
