China’s ‘Black Hawk’ set to enter PLA service

After a small flurry of helicopter images appeared on the Chinese internet this week, the Z-20 medium helicopter is thought to be approaching low-rate initial production status and formal entry into service with the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

Imagery of two Z-20s bearing PLA livery shows a nose-mounted EO/IR sensor, radar warning receiver antennas on each side of the forward and rear fuselage, plus a SATCOM antenna, BeiDou antenna and two chaff/flare dispensers on the tail boom.
