Chilean seagull programme to squawk in 2019

A tender for new light helicopters for the Chilean Navy is expected in March 2019 with the release of a RfP.

Up to five helicopters are required under Project Seagull to replace the navy’s ageing fleet of four Bell 206 rotorcraft that have been in service for about 50 years.

The programme has already been running for about five years following a RfI but has faced delays due to budget issues and it is only now that the navy has been able to secure funds to begin the tender process with industry. A decision is due by the end of
