The ageing Bell 212 helicopters of British Army Air Corp’s 7 Flight will be replaced by new aircraft under plans to renew its outsourcing arrangement.

A tender released by the UK MoD recently called for bidders including existing service support provider Cobham, alongside AAR Airlift, Gama Aviation, British International Helicopter Services and AgustaWestland to submit a bid by 25 February.

Due to the sensitive nature of the bidding stage, none of the companies were able to confirm their participation.

The contract to run services for six years out to the end of September 2022 will be worth between £20-50 million.
