Britannia delivers mission equipment on UN Mi-8
Britannia 2000 has completed the delivery of mission equipment for UN missions on a UN Mi-8 helicopter in Senegal, the company announced on 4 February.
The prime contractor of the project was Britannia's partner ASU Baltija, based in Lithuania. Baltija had recently delivered the upgraded Mi-8 helicopter to the customer on time and within the allocated budget.
The delivered Britannia airborne mission equipment includes an EO/IR surveillance turret.
Ralph Jones, managing director, Britannia 2000, said: 'The Mi-8 helicopter provides a vital service to Senegalese communities with the UN.'
The Mi-8 has already resumed operations since its delivery. It is a multi-purpose helicopter designed by Mil Moscow, and it features advanced flight capabilities, an operational ability in a wide range of climatic conditions and high-level adaptability and reliability.
