Boeing delivers 500th AH-64E Apache
Boeing confirmed on 16 April that it has delivered its 500th AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopter, which is used by the US Army and other militaries around the world including India, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and the UK.
The production, flight testing and delivery of the AH-64E Apache is ongoing at Boeing facilities in Mesa, Arizona.
Apache Guardian was first manufactured in 2011 and it has been used in combat and humanitarian operations. Plans to modernise the multi-role military helicopter aim to ensure it continues to meet operational requirements.
The US Army intends to extend the life service of its fleet of AH-64E Apaches until 2040.
Shephard Defence Insight reports that each unit costs approximately $32.3 million.
