Catering to domestic concerns, Indonesia’s president has overturned a decision by the national air force (TNI-AU) to acquire three AgustaWestland AW101 helicopters for VVIP use.

President Joko Widodo decreed he would continue using an existing NAS332 Super Puma assembled by Indonesian Aerospace, and that under ‘current financial conditions the price is too high’ for the AW101s. Some reports say the deal was worth US$120 million.
