Australia signs HATS contract

Future pilots with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) can look forward to an easier transition to advanced helicopters such as the ARH Tiger and MRH90 after a new training contract was signed on 14 November.

At a ceremony at HMAS Albatross, Nowra, the Australian government signed an agreement with Boeing Defence Australia for JP 9000 Phase 7 – Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS), which covers the training of Royal Australian Navy and Australian Army helicopter pilots for the next 25 years.
