AUSA 2019: Boeing prepares for CH-47F Block II delay

Boeing is making preparations for a worst-case scenario where the procurement of Chinook CH-47F Block II helicopters for the US Army is delayed by anything up to five years. While the company has Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) work through to 2021, the need to begin procuring long lead items is imminent.

A company spokesman talked up the overall strength of the Chinook production line, with more than 200 aircraft delivered over five years and 40 expected to be delivered this year. India received the first four of 15 ordered in February this year and Singapore’s second aircraft is going
