AUSA 10: Companies battle it out for JAGM

Lockheed Martin and the Raytheon-Boeing team are gearing up for the release of a request for proposals (RfP) for the US military’s $5 billion next-generation ground-attack missile programme.

At the AUSA Annual Meeting, both teams were keen to highlight the maturity of their contender for the Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM), as developed under separate 27-month $125 technology development contracts awarded in 2008 and recently concluded. 

With a draft RfP issued in mid-October – and responses due on 1 November – industry sources said the RfP itself would possibly be issued towards the end of 2010/beginning of 2011. Several stressed, however,
