Apache and Chinook boost for Netherlands

Two of the main Dutch rotary programmes - the Boeing AH-64 Apache and CH-47 Chinook - have been bolstered by a set of contracts which further the country's modernisation plans.    

In the first instance, Dutch and US officials officially signed off on a contract to overhaul the nation's fleet of 28 AH-64D Longbow Block II aircraft and have them upgraded to the AH-64E Guardian variant. 

Michèle Hizon, principal director of security assistance at the US Defence Security Cooperation Agency and Barbara Visser, Dutch secretary of state for defence, were among the dignitaries who attended a signing ceremony at Gilze-Rijen Air Base
