ANA to sell helicopter maintenance operation to Eurocopter
All Nippon Airways said Thursday it will sell its subsidiary ANA Aircraft Maintenance Co.'s helicopter maintenance division to major European helicopter maker Eurocopter.
ANA will set up a new company by spinning off the helicopter division from ANA Aircraft Maintenance and sell a 60 percent stake of the new firm to Eurocopter Japan Co., a Japanese subsidiary of France's Eurocopter.
Although the price for the deal is not made public, the price is estimated at about 500 million yen.
ANA plans to establish the new company in July and take over about 100 employees at the helicopter division.
ANA Aircraft Maintenance is now doing maintenance for Eurocopter-made helicopters. The deal is aimed at expanding its business by uniting the division with the helicopter maker, while the subsidiary will concentrate on aircraft maintenance.
