Airbus Helicopters bullish in face of low oil price

Despite the recent plunge in oil prices creating some short-term pain, Airbus Helicopters is bullish that strong opportunities remain for larger rotorcraft such as the EC175 and EC225e.

Revealing the company’s results for 2014, Airbus Helicopters president Guillaume Faury noted that the OEM currently provides 25% of all helicopters operating in the oil and gas sector, so was watching the situation closely.

‘We see factors are going in different directions,’ he told reporters at the company’s annual meeting with the press in Paris on 27 January.

‘Obviously we see a trend of cost reduction – very strong cost reduction
