Airbus and Mahindra strengthen partnership

Airbus Helicopters and Mahindra Defence announced further solidification of their ‘Make in India’ partnership on 24 January. This followed an initial MoU signed in July 2015 covering a joint venture in the military helicopter sector. 

This progress was marked by a statement of intent signed before Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visiting President Francois Hollande at a bilateral business summit in Chandigarh. 

The two partners are now busy defining work packages that can be undertaken in India and ‘which would facilitate the required rapid ramp-up in the case of a programme award to the joint venture’, according to a press
