AHS Forum 73: NATO launches rotorcraft study

Multiple organisations across NATO have joined together to launch a new Next Generation Rotorcraft Capability Study.

A variety of organisations and committees are working to support NATO in areas such as tactics, doctrine, procurement, technology and platforms, Layne Merritt, chief engineer at the US Army Aviation Development Directorate, noted during the opening session of the AHS 73rd Annual Forum and Technology Display in Fort Worth, Texas.

'Government rotorcraft organisations from numerous nations are going to be increasing our NATO involvement and our engagements there,' Merritt said. 

'And I want to announce a new one that we have going… It's called Next Generation
