Afghans MD 530F proving worth, says NATO

The MD530F Cayuse Warrior light attack helicopter has been cited as one of the improvements in the Afghan national defence and security forces (ANDSF) over the last 12 months.

US Brig Gen Charles Cleveland, spokesperson for NATO's Resolute Support training mission in Afghanistan, noted the number of MD530Fs in service with the Afghan Air Force (AAF) had increased from ‘a handful’ to 27 aircraft.

Cleveland said the helicopters were being used constantly, flying strike missions throughout Afghanistan.
