Aero India: Lightweight helicopter armour showcased
A ‘6th-generation’ helicopter armour technology, which reduces weight by 40%, was showcased at Aero India.
The Polyshield V6 was highlighted by India-based manufacturer of protection and surveillance solutions, MKU, which has sold armour technology to Airbus, Mexico and Germany.
The company is also currently awaiting a request for proposal from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) for the Light Utility Helicopter it is presently developing.
Polyshield V6 solutions increases the hovering ceiling of the helicopter, improving mission capability and reducing vulnerability, according to Vaibhav Gupta, vice president for domestic sales and electro optics at the company.
