Aero India 2017: India’s LUH makes public debut

The first prototype of the Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) made its public debut at Aero India in Bangalore on 14 February.

After the LUH completed a maiden 15-minute technical flight on 6 September last year, a HAL spokesman confirmed that flight tests are continuing on PT1 and that these are 'progressing smoothly'. The aim is to 'get a feel for catching the edges of its flight envelope'.

At Aero India 2017 the state-owned aerospace company also put the second prototype on static display. PT2 has some improvements, and it will be tested alongside PT1 so
