Aero India 2017: HAL shows medium-weight mock-up

After about a year's worth of effort, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) completed a full-scale mock-up of its proposed Indian Multi-Role Helicopter (IMRH) and exhibited it at Aero India in Bangalore from 14-18 February.

The key factor in developing the design is a desire to operate at high altitudes (up to 6,500m), as is common near much of India's borders with Pakistan and China. The IMRH is designed to surpass the capability of any other existing medium-weight rotorcraft in this regard.

State-owned HAL is developing the platform to meet draft requirements of India's military, including the Indian Air Force, Indian Army
