Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI) is focusing all its energies on pushing forward with the Korean Utility Helicopter (KUH) programme and has already delivered 19 production aircraft.

Yang JungMo, KAI’s manager for the KUH international business development team, told Shephard that the company was focused on delivering the Surion to the Republic of Korea Army, while also continuing to develop further variants of the aircraft.

While the four original developmental aircraft continue to expand the envelope of the helicopter, KAI has delivered 16 production aircraft to the army’s flight training school. A further three aircraft have been delivered to operational squadrons.
