AAR’s Airlift division will provide dedicated fixed-wing lift services to US Africa Command (USAFRICOM) throughout four Central African countries, following the re-award of a contract initially issued in November 2013. The US Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) re-evaluated proposals for the original competitive solicitation following multiple incumbent protests and re-selected AAR Airlift for the work.

USTRANSCOM is the Department of Defense's single entity for transportation, sustainment and distribution for military operations, including being responsible for the procurement of commercial transportation services for US military forces.

This contract, worth $23 million inclusive of all optional task orders, will see AAR perform fixed-wing passenger and cargo transportation services, aerial delivery services, and logistics support for allied forces.

Randy J. Martinez, president and CEO, AAR Airlift Group, said: ‘We are pleased to expand our airlift services footprint in Africa. USTRANSCOM's issuance of this contract acknowledges our proven performance in remote and austere environments.’

AAR Airlift operates a fleet of fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft to transport personnel, supplies and mail for the US Department of Defense in Afghanistan and the Western Pacific.
