Hose about that for AAR capability

Airbus Defence & Space is advancing plans to provide a helicopter air-to-air refuelling (AAR) capability to the A400M transport aircraft during military operations.

Launched in earnest late last year, the research and development programme for helicopter AAR will now consider the extension of the hose's length from the standard 80ft to a prospective 120ft.

The 120ft distance is hoping to be met at a testing level by the end of this year, Miguel Angel Morrell, the Airbus Defence & Space head of engineering, explained to journalists at the company's trade media briefing.
