25 Mi-type helicopters flew over Red Square on Victory Day
The sky of the Russian capital was measured in MILes!
On the 9th of May the parade dedicated to the 65 years anniversary Victory in World War II was hold in the center of Moscow on Red Square.
This day 25 Mi-type helicopters flew over Red Square. This is the first time when such quantity of Mi-type helicopters took part in the Victory parade.
10 legendatu Mi-8 type helicopters carried national and Russian defence forces flags above the main square of the state. For good reason the helicopter is considered as the most famous, world-wide and reliable aircraft. Mi-8 is the record-holder for the quantity of upgrading versions. Mi-8 is widely used in Russian military and civil aviation. It's hard to imagine any field of military or civil application without Mi-8.
The most heavy -lift Mi-26T helicopter flew over Moscow with escort of four Mi-8 type helicopters.
Mi-26 helicopter is operated for civil and military purposes in many states. The giant helicopter is operated for humanitarian supplies, evacuation of injured persons, crane - mounting activities etc. Mi-26 helicopter is also applied for fire-fighting and disasters relief operations. In 1986 Mi-26 helicopters took part in post accident actions on Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Mi-26 is unique helicopter in the world with 20 t cargo capacity.
Six Mi-24 helicopters of "Eagle" aerobatic team and six Mi-28N main attach helicopters " Night hunters" of Russian Army flew over our capital.
All serial attack helicopters of Mi-24 family were operated for military tasks: to defeat tanks, to provide fire support of ground forces and tactic landing troops, to defeat stationary and moving targets, strongholds and enemy paratroopers; transportation tasks - paratroopers landing, transportation of troops and cargos; sanitary - evacuation of injured persons from the battlefield.
