Israel to aim Spice 250 at Lebanese and Syrian targets

Standoff glide bomb is being rolled out by Israeli Air Force to complement Spice 1000 and Spice 2000.

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) is broadening its arsenal of standoff weapons as part of its ongoing campaign of strikes against Iranian-backed terrorist groups in Syria and Lebanon.

The Spice family, which also includes the Spice 1000 and Spice 2000 kits, is one of the main tools used by the IAF in its missions against Hezbollah and other groups. These missions require the ability to launch weapons from standoff ranges, given the deployment in Syria of SAM systems such as the S-300 in recent years (pictured is a typical standoff attack scenario).
