Lockheed Martin granted contract modification for Italian F-35 procurement
Lockheed Martin has secured a $368.19 million contract modification for procurement of five F-35A Lightning II Lot 14 aircraft and one F-35B Lot 14 aircraft for the Italian armed forces.
The company will also supply associated red gear (a set of covers to protect aircraft on the ground from the elements) and the contract modification also authorises common capability scope work for the Final Assembly and Checkout Facility in Cameri, Italy.
Work is scheduled to be completed by June 2023 and will take place at locations across the US, as well as in Italy and the UK.
Non-DoD funds of $184.42 million were obligated at the time of award with none expiring at the end of FY2020.
Naval Air Systems Command will oversee the contract’s implementation.
