Indonesia bewilders yet again with Typhoon request

Indonesia continues to surprise in its aircraft acquisition efforts. Earlier this month it was the proposed purchase of eight Bell-Boeing MV-22B Ospreys that raised eyebrows, and now it has emerged the Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU) is also seeking to buy Austria’s entire fleet of Eurofighter Typhoons.

A scanned image of a letter, purportedly written by Indonesian Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto to his Austrian counterpart on 10 July, was published by Indonesian media and appeared on the internet.
