Collins to provide avionics support for USSOCOM
Collins Aerospace is to continue supporting US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) with R&D, production and sustainment of the common avionics architecture system, avionics management system and cockpit management system used on US Army special operations aircraft.
Work on the maximum $126 million non-competitive contract, awarded by USSOCOM and announced by the DoD on 17 July, will be mostly carried out in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
In November 2019, Collins Aerospace was one of three companies picked by USSOCOM to increase efficiency and reduce aircraft downtime with a modernised Special Mission Processor.
