IDEX 2015: Domestic 8x8 APC option for UAE
The Emirates Defence Technology (EDT) company in the UAE launched its 8x8 armoured vehicle called Enigma at the IDEX exhibition.
This could mean other international vendors interested in providing an 8x8 vehicle to meet a UAE Army requirement could now be frozen out of a large portion of the UAE's programme.
Other companies with 8x8 vehicles on display include Iveco with Freccia; General Dynamics with Desert Piranha V; Otokar with Arma; KMW and Rheinmetall with the Boxer; Nexter with VBCI; Patria with the AMV; and Poly Technologies from China with its 07PD 8x8.
